D.C. was fun for so many reasons, but it also marked the halfway point in our journey! We’ve now been fully remote living for 5 months and have stayed in:
San Antonio, TX
Des Moines, IA
Abilene, TX
Houston, TX
Fort Payne, AL
Panama City Beach, FL
Savannah, GA
Charlotte, NC
Miami, FL
Eastern PA
Somers Point, NJ
Big Bear, CA

… And counting! I also spent the first couple of days that we were in DC in Las Vegas for work.
We’ve gotten into our travel groove and are exceptionally great at packing the car, offloading what we don’t need, and adapting to all the different places we’ve been to. So, let’s talk D.C.
We chose D.C. mainly because its cherry blossom season is one of the most sought-after things to do there. There are three to four days of peak season, when the trees blossom simultaneously, and you have to fight through the millions of other tourists equally excited to experience it. Peak started a few days after I returned from Vegas, so we could take it all in at the Tidal Basin and see most of the major monuments.

The best part of this stop? Arion came to stay with us! I truly couldn’t have been happier to share this part of my life with my greatest and closest friend in the world. Zac and I kept joking that we get what people say when they see the world through their kids' eyes because Ari was so excited to be there and took pictures of everything, including her first ride on the metro.
We spent lots of time walking around and seeing the monuments. We ventured to the Lincoln Memorial, Reflection Pool, Washington Monument, Smithsonian, Library of Congress, and The White House. But when we weren’t walking everywhere, we got to go to puppy yoga and watch lots of sports, including the Dodgers and March Madness Final Four.

Speaking of sports! It’s not spring if we don’t talk about baseball. We were so excited to attend two games at Nationals Park while we were there—the first against the Phillies and the second against our Dodgers. Baseball has always been a favorite of ours, and going to new stadiums is always a fun way to experience the sport and its fan base.
Some of our favorite eats (that had ample gluten-free options) and experiences on this leg were:
