Well, I have procrastinated writing this blog post for long enough. Without further ado, here is a peek into our month in NYC.

To start, we stayed in an Airbnb apartment in SoHo. It was great because we were walking distance from so many things and a quick subway ride from others. We’ve visited NYC a few times and stayed in Bryant Park, Chelsea, and Times Square. I think SoHo and Bryant Park topped the list regarding walkability and overall energy. Speaking of walkability, we averaged about five miles a day just wandering the city.

Let’s start with fun activities! It's no surprise that we found quite a lot to do in the city that never sleeps. We enjoyed several Broadway and Off-Broadway shows, including Wicked, Chicago, Titanique, and Agatha Christie’s Murder on the Links. We headed to a Mets game with my dear friend, Claudine, and her husband, Jeff. We also went to the Comedy Cellar a couple of times and got to see Nate Bargatze drop in and do a surprise set, which we are still in shock about!

My bestie from Austin, Elizabeth, also came to stay with us for a long weekend, and we got to take her to do so many fun things! We went to the MET the day before the gala, took the Staten Island Ferry to see the Statue of Liberty, took her to Katz’s, and then, of course, subsequently watched When Harry Met Sally.

I could probably write a whole blog post just on food in the city, but honestly, there is so much to eat and so many options available that I feel like it’s a journey everyone has to take on their own when they get there.

Also, a quick note for book lovers. Strand Bookstore and Book Club Bar are two of the greatest places on earth.

We had so much fun in New York! It definitely wore us out, but it was worth spending the whole month and really getting to pace ourselves.

…Next stop: Nantucket!
